Volunteers are needed to help with registration, water stations, refreshments, awards, and cheering at the finish line for this fun, family-friendly, pet-friendly walk/run at Green Lakes State Park. We provide coffee and donuts for our volunteers, and endless gratitude. It’s a great way to spend a fun day at the park and support Central New York’s most vulnerable animals.
Start time: Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7am. Event starts at 7:30am, with race starting at 8:30am

Duck Race to End Racism – June 10
The Duck Race to End Racism features a huge line-up of children’s entertainment,
cooperative games, face painting, community information booths and
duck races galore designed to bring the people together.
Salvation Army Turn Around Jumpers – June 9 to June 10
The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help staff its annual 3v3 basketball tournament, Turn Around Jumpers, at LeMoyne College on Saturday, June 10th.
Volunteers are needed to help keep time and score for all of the games, work concessions, and help with setup. All volunteers will get a food voucher for a free item at the concession stand, and a free T-shirt. This is a fun and fast paced event, and a great way to support all of the programs that The Salvation Army provides to the Syracuse area.

Swimsuit Drive – May 8 to May 31
The Urban Swim Initiative is designed to dramatically cut the number of swim-related fatalities among minorities.
Through the generosity of donors, we are able to ensure that all kids can enjoy the water. We collect and distribute hundreds of swimsuits to families in need.

Mentors needed at various locations – Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society
The Guardian Angel Society Mentor/Tutor Program provides vital education support and guidance for students in junior high and high school. Our program provides each student a mentor who will offer their guidance, coaching and friendship as students work through the challenges of junior high school. Our three year program has resulted in successful preparation for senior high school for the majority of students.
Mentors are needed for students at Bishop Grimes Junior /Senior High School, and Bishop Ludden Junior per week after school or may also be scheduled into the school day.
Training required 2.5 hours maximum, Time commitment— approximately 1 hour
